Matman is an internationally acclaimed multi-award winning DJ based in London.

An open-format DJ with a foundation in Hip Hop & advanced turntable skills, Matman specialises in weaving together fast paced sets incorporating tasteful selections of Hip Hop, R’n’B, Reggae, Dancehall, Funk, Soul, Disco, House, Garage, D’n’B and more.
With over 15 years of club-rocking experience now under his belt, Matman initially made a name for himself entering DJ contests. Here he earned the titles of European Turntable Techniques Champion, UK DMC Supremacy Champion / world finalist, and ITF UK Champion & world finalist. In other words he’s pretty damn good at mixing, scratching, and all kinds of turntable trickery.
Matman has performed in 18 different countries, at many major festivals, and held down residencies at some of London’s best clubs. Matman has shared stages alongside legends such as De La Soul, Roy Ayers, Jazzy Jeff, Run The Jewels, Grandmaster Flash, Public Enemy, Q-Bert, Pete Rock, Big Daddy Kane, Biz Markie, Action Bronson, The Pharcyde, Just Blaze, Guru (Gangstarr), DJ Spinna, Marley Marl, DJ Premier, Asher Roth, A-Trak, Roni Size, Grooverider, Adam F, Zed Bias, Estelle and many, many more. He’s rocked parties for the likes of Stussy, Vans, NFL, NBA, Bench, Absolut Vodka, Gumball Rally, Wella, Bloomberg, the BAFTA awards and the Mercury Awards. He gets around.
Matman DJs and produces for the 8-piece Hip Hop/RnB covers band ‘Soul Symphony’, hosts and mixes the long running and popular ‘Droppin’ Science’ Hip Hop radio show and DJs serato club sets, audio visual VJ sets and as a member of European DJ crew ‘Dusty Donuts’ spins 7″ vinyl sets across the globe. His contributions to the soundtrack of IOS app ‘Skillz The DJ Game’ alongside his brother DJ Daredevil bagged him an IGF award for ‘Excellence In Audio’ – remixing tracks from labels such as Stones Throw, Ninja Tune, Hospital Records and Ministry of Sound. In 2013 Matman was rated amongst DJ Yoda’s top 100 djs in the world. Last year he worked alongside Mark Ronson to help him perform and create the VJ segment of his recent TED talk. His diverse range of mixtapes can regularly be found riding high in Mixcloud.com’s top 10 charts.
